The best chess players’ tournament was held in honor of Chin Van Khanddorj, the first Minister for the Ministry of all foreign matters at the Ministry of Foreign affairs during the December 19-20th, 2015. The tournament was organized by the Ministry of Foreign affairs in cooperation with the Mongolian chess federation and the hosts Minister for Foreign affairs H.E. Mr.Purevsuren L., Chess Federation President Mr.Sainbayar Ts., and the executive director Mr.Tsogbayar Ts. have attended the opening and awards ceremony. In the tournament, 82 sharp witted players challenged themselves by participating, which resulted in remaining top 13 chess players to compete further. Bilgüün S., Gan-Star S., and Enkhnar E., Masters of International Chess Federation, Sharavdorj D., An international grand master, Galmandakh D., Master of sports of Mongolia were awarded first place. Master of sports Khulan E., Khishigbayar M., International woman’s grand master Munguntuul B., Myagmarsuren L., Masters of International Chess Federation Baasansuren E. won a special prize. Meanwhile, Baasankhuu P., Kukyen Kh., Dashnyam A. were awarded with the Foreign Ministry’s special award.
During the tournament, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia H.E Mr. Lundeg Purevsuren held a meeting with Mr. Barat Singh Chaunkhanyg, a member of Executive Council of International Chess Federation and Vice president of the Asian Chess Federation, President of Indian Chess Federation. Mr. Bharat Singh Chauhan indicated Indian side’s willingness to support and cooperate with the Mongolian Chess players. Foreign minister Purevsuren L. also expressed his readiness to contribute towards developing bilateral cooperation and noted to have warm talks about the possibilities of expanding further relations during his official visit to India.
Asian Junior Chess Championship will be held in Ulaanbaatar during May 5-15th, 2016. Foreign minister Purevsuren L., indicated that the Ministry of Foreign affairs will support with organizing this tournament as well.
