Day 1. Arrive in Terelj and cultural experiences. Morning transfer to Terelj Lodge in Terelj National Park. On arrival at the camp you will be given time to settle into your Ger and freshen up prior to a short 30 minute lecture about traditional Mongolian nomadic life in the traditionally furnished Ger museum. Try some of “Airag” - mare’s fermented milk drink or yak cheese before lunch. Enjoy some horse riding after lunch. Special attention will be paid to the different saddles and bridles so unique to Mongol horse riding culture and history. Following dinner, you will be given a demonstration and training session of traditional Mongolian archery. Stay overnight in a Ger at Terelj Lodge (lunch & dinner included).
Day 2. Horse riding day. After breakfast, riders depart to a nomadic family, where they will watch the horse milking & Airag making procedure. Riders then continue the ride and the route will cover some of the more remote grassland and forest areas of Terelj (approximately 25-35 km ride). Lunch is served as picnic during the ride whilst horses are resting. In the early evening drive back to Ulaanbaatar, where the tour ends (breakfast & lunch included).
