Mongolian team sets historic record in women's weightlifting

On November 1, teams and athletes that participated in Asian Weightlifting Championship 2022, held in Manama, Bahrain, were awarded.

A total of 397 athletes from 27 countries participated in Asian Weightlifting Championship 2022 and G.Anujin won two bronze medals, E.Enkhtamir and O.Darkhijav won silver medals, and M.Ankhtsetseg won three gold medals.

They set a historic record of winning a medal as a team in the category of women's weightlifting, and M.Ankhtsetseg lifted 114 kg and broke the national record.

B.Bat-Erdene, the Minister of Sport and Olympism, said, "The government started paying special attention to the field of physical education and sports. I am very glad that the 2023 state budget has increased the budget for the sports sector by MNT 10 billion”.

The team coached by Ts.Khosbayar is preparing for the World Weightlifting Championship to be held in a month.
