On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the first space flight by a Mongolian, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene received and paid tribute to J.Gurragchaa, Hero of the People's Republic of Mongolia and USSR.
While in orbit, over 30 experiments and research works were carried out in the fields of medical care and biology, physics and technology, and remote sensing, which laid out the foundations for the development of space science in Mongolia.
During the meeting, the National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the Mongolian Space Technology Association presented their space technology development project. The project is planned to be implemented in three stages in 2020-2049. In this sector, 2020-2029 or the first stage will be Ownership, 2030-2039 or the second stage will be Competitive, and 2040-2049 or the third stage is considered to be Leading.
The Prime Minister presented his decision on forming a working group with the purpose of developing a national council and developing policy documents and plans for the development of space technology, and he expressed his readiness to support the design, construction of satellites and joint projects for the space technology complex.
