Fuel supply to return to normal from Monday
Starting August 4, the Emergency Headquarters for Stabilizing the Supply and Distribution of Petroleum Products introduced measures to restrict fuel sales based on vehicle license plate numbers and limit each vehicle to 50,000 tugriks’ worth of fuel per refueling. The restrictions will be lifted from August 15, after which fuel sales will return to normal.
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources G.Damdinnyam held negotiations in Russia and reached an agreement to purchase an additional 25,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline on top of the amount already scheduled for August. As a result, fuel supplies are expected to continue without interruption throughout the month, State Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources B.Dashpurev said.
He said, “A total of 180 railcars carrying 110,000 tons of fuel are arriving from Russia. They will be unloaded this weekend, and distribution will begin next Monday.
In addition, 13 railcars carrying fuel will enter the country through the Ereentsav border crossing, which will help ease the fuel shortage in the eastern provinces”
