(Ulaanbaatar) Jan 9, Mongolian Judo Federation and Kazakhstan Judo Federations signed MOU today.
One of the main issues to be regulated by this agreement one of the best Judokas Otgontsetseg Galbadrakh, competing in 48kg female category, is to compete in the name of Kazakhstan.
Currently the female ranking of the Judokas in 48kg female category is led by Mongolian Judoka Urantsetseg Munkhbat with 3180 points and Judoka G.Otgontsetseg ranks at 9th with 1258 point.
G.Otgontsetseg ranked high at international ranking through several successful matches such as Silver Medal at Moscow Grand Slam. Gold Medal at Astana Grand Prix and Bronze Medal at Qingdao Grand Prix.
According to the rules and regulations first 22 judokas at the international ranking are allowed to compete at 2016 Olympics.
Due to the strick regulations to have only one judoka at one weight category Mongolian team faced dilemma.
In this regard, Mongolian Judo Federation had to accept Kazakhstan proposal to have Mongolian athlete as legionaire. Kazakh side made all the necessary talks and negotiations with Mongolian Olympic Committee and Mongolian Judo Federation.
As of G.Otgonttsetseg, she will continue do her training in Mongolia and then leave for Kazakhstan.
