The regular meeting of the cabinet was held on May 22, 2024 and the following issues were discussed and resolved.
During the meeting, a Resolution on Regulation for Providing Government Support to Mongolian Educational and Lifelong Learning Institutions Operating Abroad was approved.
L.Enkh-Amgalan, the Minister of Education and Science, was instructed to finance the necessary funds within the framework of the 2024 budget package and take measures to include them in the annual state budget. The resolution will be an important step for reaching goals and objectives set forth in Mongolia's long-term and medium-term development policy that Mongolian children living in foreign countries can learn, inherit and spread the Mongolian language, literacy, customs, historical and cultural traditions, support the development of Mongolian people, ensure the implementation of education laws.
A total of 59 Mongolian language and culture centers, established through public initiatives, operate in 16 countries, including Germany, the United States, Canada, Switzerland, and the Republic of Korea. These centers, ranging from schools and kindergartens to cultural centers and summer camps, provide training in Mongolian language, history, music, dance, and chess to 6000 children.
