Pedestrians, cyclists, scooter riders, and moped users have long faced challenges navigating Peace Avenue due to narrow sidewalks and obstructions. To address this, there is a proposal to remove unauthorized first-floor extensions, originally built over green spaces, on both sides of the avenue to restore walkways and improve accessibility.
A public survey was conducted on our website starting from June 1, with a total of 2,815 participants. Of these, 82% (2,314 respondents) expressed their support for removing the extensions to widen the sidewalks.
Supporters believe that restoring the sidewalks will improve safety and convenience for pedestrians and various light transport users, and help reclaim public space that was previously designated as green areas.
Citizens hope that city officials will consider this feedback and take steps to create a safer, more accessible, and pedestrian-friendly environment in the heart of the capital.
