Yokozuna Hakuho makes history in Sumo

Grand yokozuna Hakuho Davaajargal Munkhbat captured 37th Emperor Cup in May Natsu Basho, where he finished the tournament without any defeat with 15 wins.

On the second day of May Natsu Basho, he defeated his opponent for the 880 times and set a record of most winning sumo wrestler in history. After his 15 days of victory spree, he secured another emperor cup while setting a personal and sumo sports winning record to 893. His record is matched by none in modern sumo history and is followed by Kaiyo 879 (retired), Chiyonofuji 807 (retired), Kitanoumi 804 (retired). Taiho 746 (retired).

In January 2015, Hakuho broke 1700 year old record by winning his 33rd basho victory and saturday he raised this to 37. Also he holds most championships record without a single loss for 15 days with 68th Grand yokozuna Asashoryu Dagvadorj. 

69th Grand yokozuna Hakuho Davaajargal's first tournament (basho) was back in March 2001. And then started in makuuchi, a top division, in May 2004 and won his first makuuchi in May Natso basho in 2006.
