PHOTO: Guests who attended the retirement ceremony of Hakuho M.Davaajargal

A retirement ceremony for Hakuho M.Davaajargal was held last weekend.

On January 28, the retirement ceremony of Hakuho M.Davaajargal, the 69th grand champion (Yokozuna) of Japanese professional Sumo wrestling, was held. He racked up 1,187 career wins, and has 45 tournament wins. He will inherit the Miyagino stable when he retires.

Bat-Erdene, Minister of Olympics, Public Physical Education and Sports, representing the Government of Mongolia, went to the ceremony to hand over the moving trophy named after the Prime Minister.

A Kokugikan Arena with 8000 seats was filled with a large number of politicians, wrestlers, artists, and sportsmen from Mongolia.

Artist Zayasaikhan Sambuu presented his artwork for Hakuho. The photo is also printed on the cover of the invitation. Looking at the picture, the representation of two phoenixes indicates the number of the 69th Great Champion. In the middle, the black dragonfly, which is endangered in the world, is drawn.

At the retirement ceremony, Opera Singer G.Ariunbaatar, and HU band, who are Chinggis Khaan order awardees, performed.
