In scope of upcoming Army Day, 95th anniversary of Mongolian Armed Forces and 50th anniversary of establishment of the Mongolian Military Museum, weapons used by Mongolian soldiers are being exhibited at the Mongolian Military Museum.
The exhibition displays the armor, bows and arrows, helmets and shields used by the Mongolian military in Middle Ages as well as modern military stuffs.
Also you are able to see the portraits of kings, conch shell trumpet, chiefs flag, battle flags, historic photographs and more than 20 archival documents.
Moreover sword, stamps, posters, postcards and envelope listed in Intangible Cultural Heritage is being exhibited.
About the museum:
The Mongolian military museum which has spread the history of the Mongolian Army has made Mongolia famous throughout the world. It is a research and training organization aimed at collecting and examining the memorable possessions of the Mongolia army and promoting them to the people. The Mongolian Peoples Revolution Party's Central Committee held a meeting on the 21st of January, 1966 to establish The Mongolian Army Museum. The meeting to decide the decree №2 that is nowadays the main historical document of the Mongolian Military Museum. The Mongolian Military Museum establishment ceremony was help on 24th of October, 1987. The museum building held its opening ceremony on 15th March, 1996 when it received its first visitors. Our museum has two permanent exhibition halls and 12 fonds. The first exhibition hall displays from upper paleolithic to XX century and the second exhibition hall exhibits from early XX century to modern army history. From these halls you can see a BC VIII to VII bronze helmets, bronze, iron weapons, XIII to XVIII century ancient Mongolian soldiers' clothes, weapons, XX century modern weapons, uniforms and medals.
