Joint Mongolia - Thailand concert organized in Bangkok

On 26 February 2016, the Embassy of Mongolia in the Kingdom of Thailand and Rangsit University jointly organized “From Mongolian Altai Mountains to Chao Phraya River” Morin Khuur concert and joint Mongolian-Thai cultural performance at Rangsit University in commemoration of the 42nd Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Kingdom of Thailand. The concert was opened by H.E. Mr. Tugsbilguun Tumurkhuleg, Ambassador of Mongolia to Thailand and Dr. Arthit Ourairat, President of Rangsit University.

Over 60 Mongolian and Thai artists including the People’s Artist of Mongolia Ts. Tserendorj, maestro D. Ulambayar,Khaan Khuur quartet, Naiman Sharga Morin Khuur orchestra of the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture, conducted by composer Ts. Purevkhuu from the Mongolian side and Mr. Naowarat Pongphaiboon, National Artist of Thailand, Rangsit University Symphony Orchestra, RSU Jazz ensemble and One World Project musicians from the Thai side took part in the joint performance.

The event was attended by the Hon. Mr. Kosol Petchsuwan, Member of the National Legislative Assembly and President of Thailand-Mongolia Parliamentarians Friendship Group, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, eminent arts and culture personalities as well as professors, lecturers and students from various universities and institutions of higher education – in total of around 800 people. Moreover, heads and deputy heads of a number of diplomatic and consular missions, representatives of international organizations in Bangkok as well as Mongolian citizens residing in Thailand saw the performance.

In addition to the concert, photo exhibitions “Beautiful Mongolia” and “Mongolia-UN 55” were opened for the public.
