At today’s Cabinet meeting, the Government of Mongolia focused on key issues concerning children's rights, the Children's Fund, and education. The session was held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of children’s organizations in Mongolia.
P.Naranbayar, Minister of Education, announced that:
- A bill will be submitted to regulate the participation of children under the age of 16 in social networks, in an effort to protect their well-being and mental health in the digital space.
- Greater attention will be paid to safeguarding the rights of children in boarding schools.
- The Children's Council will work to ensure the independence of student self-governance structures in schools.
- Initiatives will be launched to promote children’s self-development, especially during their commute between home and school.
- How to implement projects and programs by pooling budgets among children's organizations.
The Minister also noted that citizens will be invited to vote on how to allocate funds in the Children's Fund. Planned investments include: Building an art theater, supporting youth clubs, establishing an IT park to promote digital literacy and innovation.
