As part of the Kharkhorum city development project, over one million coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs are being planted across a total area of 1,500 hectares to establish a green area.
To date, more than 800 people from the public and private sectors, including over 40 organizations and enterprises in the mining and forestry industries, have taken part in the effort, planting more than 550,000 trees.
The Forest department is responsible for planting and maintenance activities, as well as for assessing key parameters of the trees and shrubs. This includes identifying the species, origins, and growth forms of those planted by contractors, monitoring growth and inventory, and calculating the survival rate.
