Indian artist Renu Kumar opened her exhibition in Zanabazar gallery today. She has been painting since 2016 and today shows her arts to the mongolians through her exhibition.
- First of all, congratulations on opening your art exhibition
- Thank you for having me on Gogo.mn
- What kind of art do you create?
- First, I was inclined towards expressionism. So, I had created some series collection like “Emergence”, “Moments suspended in time”. I had also created a series called “Walk through the seasons” as I have lived in different countries and as I have experienced seasons firsthand that expression has come onto the canvas.
Later on, I moved towards abstract art. I am also inspired my music and believe that art and music are allies. A combination of musical notes on a music sheet orchestrates a music piece so does the flow or movement of colors on the canvas or paper to create a master piece. My Symphony series is an abstract series inspired by music. Then, another abstract series is the Energy series which is the inner energy that has come out on canvas paper.
- What message do you aim to convey to people through your exhibition?
- Art helps to express one’s inner feelings whichever genre of art one practice whether its abstract, expressionism, impressionism or even cubism. But, here in this particular exhibition, I want to convey that life experiences affects every person; they are like teachers to us. One learns a lot at different phases of life. I have tried to show the same through this small installation titled – “passing through the circles”.
I am inspired by the Mongolian natural beauty and would definitely, paint some of it in near future
The stages from birth to childhood where one is carefree but still learn lot of things, in fact I would say childhood is the foundation of a person character. Then the soul moves on towards youth where there is so much to learn and mostly a person learns through mistakes, I guess. Then, the adult hood its more of a responsibility phase. And, finally, the old age is a phase of retro perspective and redemption., if possible. This Installation will be a permanently installed at Zanabazar.
- Where have you exhibited before?
- I have exhibited in many group and solo exhibitions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. One in particular, I would like to mention here is the international Art exhibition which is held every year in Dubai- World Art Dubai, where I participated in 2019.

- How long have you been in Mongolia and what do you do in here?
- I have been here from last seven months now. Well, I am inspired by the Mongolian natural beauty and would definitely, paint some of it in near future. Another thing, I would like to collaborate with cashmere wool companies with my artwork. I would like to take this opportunity through your channel, I would like to invite all big and small cashmere wool companies if they can collaborate in some way to create some of my artwork on fabric, wool or silk. I would like to show some of the shawls and scarves which were manufactured by one of the famous Indian companies who produces fine wool, silk and pashmina products. Pashmina is a rare wool found only at the foothills of Himalayas.
- Have you seen the works of Mongolian another artist? If so, please name your favorite artist.
