Mongolia and Turkey to strengthen cooperation in internal affairs

On May 11, to exchange experience and strengthen cooperation with law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Turkey, Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs S.Amarsaikhan received Turkish Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia Başak Genç Yüksel, and other officials.

During the meeting, the two sides expressed satisfaction that diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two countries have expanded in all fields and have reached the level of a strategic partnership. They noted that cooperation is actively developing on the basis of shared values, goals, and interests aimed at promoting democracy, human rights, and peace.

Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs S.Amarsaikhan said, “Within the framework of diplomatic relations, cooperation, and the legal documents between our two countries, I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of the Government of Mongolia for successfully enrolling officers from the Mongolian police and internal military organizations in long-term bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at the National Police Academy and the Gendarmerie Academy with scholarships from the Government of Turkey, and for continuing to train knowledgeable and capable personnel.”

He also said he was pleased to officially welcome the Turkish delegation to Mongolia and meet with the Minister in person.

“This historic relationship between the two countries has an important influence on strengthening our current relations and cooperation. In addition, although a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding have been signed between the ministries of justice of the two countries, there are still some areas that need to be further improved,” he said.
