On February 5, 2026, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg met with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to discuss deepening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across a range of areas.

The two sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen political trust and increase the frequency of high-level visits. They also reviewed international and regional issues within the framework of the Mongolia–U.S. Strategic Third Neighbourhood Partnership.

Both officials highlighted the Second Compact, the joint Mongolia–U.S. programme implemented by the Government of Mongolia and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), as a symbol of bilateral cooperation, and reaffirmed the importance of enriching cooperation through continuing bilateral dialogue mechanisms.
