Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Delegates led by the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) Secretary General D.Amarbayasgalan visited the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the invitation of Workers’ Party of DPRK.
During the visit delegates met with the President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea Kim Yong-nam and Director of International Relations Department of the Workers’ party Ri Su-young and exchanged views on deepening the traditional friendly bilateral relations, strengthening mutual understanding between the nations and expanding cooperation between the two parties.
Mongolian delegation visited the Panmunjom village and the de facto border between North and South Korea, where the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement that paused the Korean War was signed. They also visited mausoleum of 31st king of Goryeo Gongmin and his Mongolian queen and paid tribute.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Mongolia-DPRK diplomatic relations. Regarding to this and celebrating the 106th birthday of Kim Il Sung, ‘The Day of the Sun' festival event was organized. Mongolian delegates, representatives of other countries and Ambassadors of foreign countries in Pyongyang attended the event.
