Tourism promoting event ITM-2018 kicks-off

International Travel Mat 2018,  the 19th tourism exhibition, took place for three days between March 30 and April 1 at Misheel Expo Center. According to the organizers, representatives from the Russian Federation, namely delegation from Republic of Tuva and Buryatia, China, Korea and Japan participated in the event. Within the frames of Three-Pillared Development Policy, tourism has become one of the prioritized sectors of Mongolia's development.

"Our company is participating in this event to introduce our operation and find more tour operators who choose our service and to sip contract for their guests, "Tumurkhuu Khenmedeh, Booking Manager of Ikh Mongol Tourist Camp, noted. Located one km from Kharkhorin, which is one of the biggest tourist attraction of the country, Ikh Mongol Camp is capable of receiving 100 tourists in 30 gers and 10 small cozy houses. It has been running its oparetion for three years.

"We are here to sign contract with tour operators whom we worked with and find new contractors," remarked Chinzorig Tumur-baatar. Director of Misheel Camp located near Orkhon River two km from Kharhorin. The company has been operating for 10 years and is capable of receiving 40 tourists in 15 gers.  "For a ger camp. there is no need to expand operations. We work only to improve our service to satisfy our customers," Mr. Chinzorig explained. "Challenges for tourism sector are poor infrastructure and qualified workforce to develop tourism in Mongolia," he added.

"Our Ibis Styles Ulaanbaatar started its operation in June 2017. We have not been officially launched yet." Khaliun Batbold. Sales and Marketing Manager of the Ibis Styles Ulaanbaatar, emphasized. 

We are developing cross border tourism with Uvs aimag. We, headed by our Minister of Culture of Tuva Aldar Tamdyn are participating in this event to promote our products," Aisu Oorzhak. Consultant of Tourism Department of the Ministry from the Republic of Tuva. According to her, currently effective non-visa regime facilitates favourable condition to develop tourism between the countries, "From Tuva side, holy places tour, health tour, event tour, shopping tour and active tourism are available for Mongolians,” Aisu Oorzhak emphasized. 

Another participant has great objective to bring 1000 to 30,000 Chinese tourists to Mongolia between 2018 and 2020. “Together with Sodon Multimedia, an Inner Mongolian company, our Mon Tai Sino Group. will operate gomgl. cn website for placing information of Mongolian tour operators and companies in Chinese language." Aabat Gankhuyag, Director of Mon Tai Sino Group, stressed. "Great history of Mongolia. information availability of the country and China's Belt and Road initiative will be a great asset to develop tourism between the two countries, he  emphasized.
