Total measles cases rise to 13,284

As of August 12, 2025, Mongolia has reported a total of 13,284 confirmed measles cases. Among them, 47 patients are currently hospitalized; 10 in mild condition, 35 in moderate condition, and 2 in severe condition.

So far, 13,203 patients have recovered, 24 are receiving care at home, and 10 have died. Health authorities have identified 96,710 people who had close contact with infected individuals.

The highest number of cases is among children aged 10–14, with 5,013 infections. This is followed by 2,994 cases in children aged 0–4 and 1,712 cases in those aged 5–9.

Measles is a highly contagious but vaccine-preventable disease. Officials are urging the public to complete the recommended two-dose vaccination schedule, the most effective protection against the virus.
