Mart Laanemäe, Undersecretary for Europe and Transatlantic Relations, Estonia MFA said: "This is the first conference in Asia Pacific region where most of the internet users reside and possibly having the most potential. Last year in Tallinn we have heard that Chingis Khaan used the communication system similar to how we transfer the information today. Challenges are still present in the protection of the privacy. Blocking of the socially sensitive information is still present. In two decades Estonia has grown hugely. Estonia has looked for the best practices all the time and technology keeps developing with the challenges it can offer as well. Estonia is committed to developing the e governance. So next year every year. Thank you."
Ingrid Mollestad, Director Human Rights and Democracy, Norway MFA said: "Freedom online is the thing we have to fight for. We obliged to fight for this freedom as a coalition. Because internet is the concern for all of us."
Thomas Hajnoczi , Austrian Ambassador to the UN in Geneva said: "Austria appreciates that the FOC is being held in Asia. Mongolia has become a trailblazer for other Asian countries for the freedom online. Austria is leading the initiative in matters regarding the safety if the journalists. 26 journalists have been killed since the start of this year. It is our strong belief that the safety of journalists is essential to our right and freedom of expression and speech. FOC has grown both in activities and coalition.
Ingrid Mollestad, Director Human Rights and Democracy, Norway MFA said: "Norway is pleased to be accepted as a member of FOC in March 2015. FOC is the base to work together and support the freedom of speech and security for the community. Security is mostly comes as a pretext for restrictions. All the stakeholders have to work to ensure the privacy online and offline and secure the rights of the journalists."
Dr Gustaf Lind, Ambassador for Human Rights, Sweden MFA said: "We are now counting 26 members in only four years time. We have to be able to fight for internet rights and privacy. Gender gap should be narrowed in the digital world as well. Women must have strengthened rights of expression online as well. I want to thank government of Mongolia for hosting this conversation."
Nicole Mannion, Deputy Director Human Rights, Ireland MFA said: "As a founding member of foc ireland is the promoter of the freedom online and offline. We must ensure the transparency, rule of law."
Maria Leissner, Secretary General, Community of Democracies said: "Internet has become the veins and blood of the society. Internet has become indispensable of the society. Human rights have to be protected online as well as offline."
The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj said: "Thank you for heart-warming words for our people, country and the government. Why Mongolia? Why you are holding the FOC? I would like to say that it is home of the first internet system 800 years ago during the great empire. Within one week reaching Beijing, within month Europe and so on. Other thing i,d like to say if there are online companies who are seeking for storage Mongolia will host the storage for you. If you have problems in ur countries you can enjoy freedom in Mongolia. Private sector in internet and communication please make sure to make partners with the guests and participants of this coalition. We have knowledgeable and skilled young generation to do so. NUMBER of members is increasing rapidly. It was easy to conquer the world on the back of a horse yet it is tough to dismount and rule. It was easy to establish the coalition but it is tough to continue the initiative."
