Minister of Health E.Batshugar met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Choi Jin-won to discuss the deepening "Strategic Partnership" between the two nations, with a specific focus on healthcare cooperation. E.Batshugar emphasized that the health sector is a cornerstone of bilateral relations, highlighting the importance of the cooperation agreement signed between their respective ministries this past March.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to prioritize the implementation of the agreement’s core objectives. A major point of discussion was the establishment of the National Cancer Center II; the Minister formally requested the Ambassador’s support and attention to ensure the project’s successful development.
Minister E.Batshugar also noted the Mongolian government’s commitment to improving the quality and affordability of pharmaceuticals. He expressed a strong interest in expanding cooperation to bring more high-quality, safe medicines from the Republic of Korea into the Mongolian market.
Ambassador Choi Jin-won congratulated the Minister on his recent appointment and reaffirmed South Korea's full support for the new bilateral health framework. The ambassador said the new agreement between the two countries’ health ministries is an important step and expressed full support for its implementation. He also said he would pay special attention to the establishment of National Cancer Center II.
