India stands ready assist Mongolia in securing extra supplies of COVID vaccines from India

Government of India is glad to announce GIFT of 150,000 doses of Made in India, Covishield Astra Zeneca Vaccine to the friendly people of Mongolia.

The consignment of vaccine arrived Mongolia today (Feb 22) and was handed over by Ambassador M P Singh to the H.E. Mr S. Amarsaikhan, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia in a special ceremony held at UB Airport today which was attended by Minister of Health, State Secretary of Ministry of Finance and other senior officials.

In his remarks, Ambassador M P Singh said that India is glad to be the first nation to provide Covid vaccine to the ‘Spiritual Neighbour’ and ‘Strategic Partner’ Mongolia, in the very first phase, in which 6.3 million vaccines have been gifted to 13 friendly nations. This gesture, demonstrates our cooperative and collaborative spirit, our bond of hearts and the importance of Mongolia in our ‘Act East’ policy.

DPM in his remarks thanked Prime Minister of India for placing “Mongolia at the forefront of the list of countries for supply of 150,000 Covid vaccine” and mentioned that “today’s event will go down in history”. DPM said that “India-Mongolia strategic partnership is expanding and joint projects and programs are being implemented successfully in various fields to strengthen friendship between the People of Mongolia and India”

India considers the ‘world as a one big family’ and believes in Sharing and Caring, which is reflected in our supplying medical expertise, medicines & equipment and Covid vaccine to over 74 nations in the world during these challenging times.

The vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi & commitment of External Affairs Minister, Dr Jaishankar, to consolidate and deepen partnership with our friendly nation, Mongolia through ‘Vaccine Maitri’ or Vaccine Friendship Mission, will go a long way to further deepen and reinforcing our relationship.

The Embassy of India thanks, Prime Minister of Mongolia, Deputy PM, Foreign Minister and Minister of Health for working closely to organize transportation of the consignment of 150,000 vaccines from India within a short span of time.

Ambassador expressed hope that the vaccination programme, expected to commence shortly in Mongolia, will provide required Health Security in the country, reinforce safety of the Mongolian Healthcare & frontline workers and contribute to bring the Mongolian economy back to normal growth.

In addition to the doses gifted today, India stands ready assist Mongolia in securing extra supplies of Covid vaccines from India on commercial basis.
