D.Sumiya won the 2017 Suzuki World Judo Championships

ULAANBAATAR (GoGo Mongolia) - On Aug 30, Olympic silver medalist D.Sumiya won the 2017 Suzuki World Judo Championships which is being held in Budapest, Hungary. 

From the first day of the 2017 Suzuki World Judo Championships, Japan was the only nation that won gold medals in all weight categories. On the third day of the contest, D.Sumiya stopped the Japanese glory by winning all her matches and grabbed gold in women's -57kg category. 

In the final wrestling for the gold medal, she defeated Yoshida Tsukasa of Japan by waza-ari score in added time. The wrestling has continued over 13 minutes. 

D.Sumiya who leads the women`s -57 kg Judo World ranking had won a bronze medal in 2015 Astana World Judo Championships and silver medal in 2016 Rio Olympic Games. 

Now she became the fourth World Judo Championships of Mongolia.
