The draft state budget for 2025 will soon be under discussion. Enterprises and citizens use this budget to formulate their annual plans.
L.Oyun-Erdene, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, shared that this year’s investment proposals will be reviewed for the first time in an enlarged district session. He emphasized, “This year’s budget should not be divided evenly among local areas. Instead, we should boldly reform our approach by prioritizing spending on infrastructure and energy projects that will support economic growth.”
The Prime Minister also presented changes in the gross domestic product (GDP) over the last three years as part of the "New Revival Policy" and offered projections for the coming years. Over this period, Mongolia's economy has shown steady growth, with a rise of 5-6% annually. The country’s GDP was MNT 43.6 trillion in 2021, and by 2023, it had grown to MNT 70.4 trillion. The government expects this figure to reach MNT 79.2 trillion by 2024.
The government is optimistic that if the economy continues to grow by 5-6% annually, the gross domestic product could reach MNT 132 trillion by 2028
