The Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations S.Sukhbold has addressed an opening ceremony of a new Mongolian school in New York City, USA.
In his remarks, Sukhbold underlined that inheriting the national culture and language to Mongolians residing abroad is one of the vital policies of Mongolian state and noted that the new school in NY will operate in the building of the Mongolian Permanent Representative Office. He emphasized importance of parents’ support in motivating Mongolian children to study their national culture and language, and called for taking joint efforts to develop the school’s activities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mongolian nationals and their children living in New York City as well as New Jersey State.
Currently, about 20 Mongolian pupils have applied for the school which plans to divide classes into three groups depending on age and level of native language knowledge. Lessons will be taught on every Friday and Saturday. Apart from Mongolian language, the school included training program on Mongolian custom and tradition.
