National Agency Meteorology and the Environmental Monitoring presented this month’s weather forecast that average temperature will be warmer than the long-term average in most parts of the central and eastern provinces. Ulaanbaatar city is included in the central area. However the weather is warmer than the average for many years, grey smoke covering the capital city didn’t reduce. The color of the smoke is getting dark and residents of the capital city are living in the dark bitter smoke.

National Agency Meteorology and the Environmental Monitoring presented this month’s weather forecast that average temperature will be warmer than the long-term average in most parts of the central and eastern provinces. Ulaanbaatar city is included in the central area.

However the weather is warmer than the average for many years, grey smoke covering the capital city didn’t reduce. The color of the smoke is getting dark and residents of the capital city are living in the dark bitter smoke.

According to www.agaar.mn, amount of elements such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and ozone are still above acceptable levels in Ulaanbaatar. Last week, Khailaast area was “Very polluted”, the 1st micro-district, Zuun ail, Zuragt, Tavan buudal and Amgalan area was “Polluted” and other areas were “Less polluted”.

Whereas the city officials blamed 20 thousand citizens of rural area who moved to the capital city, residents in ger districts who sold their improved stoves, and residents who couldn’t fire properly.

In fact, it is the second year that the residents of the capital city have used refined coal. Air pollution hasn’t reduced even the plant capacity was increased.
