Delegation from U.S. working on renewing TIFA

Trade Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) has seen interruptions for the last 7 years.  TIFA meeting is seen as the tool to intensify the traditional cooperation between the two countries and deepen the trade ties in specific fields as well.

In detail the TIFA will enable to establish the favourable cooperation environment and improve the trade and investment relations of the two countries and enables the policy discussions to be conducted at the governmental level. During the meeting today the sides will discuss the issues related to transparency of the trade regulations, investment environment issues, trade support procedures and intellectual property rights.

Ambassador Robert Holleyman, Deputy United States Trade Representative, who was confirmed by the U.S. Senate for this position on September 18, 2014, is to preside the meeting.
