Mongolia-Russia business meeting held

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Commerce Representative Office of the Russian Federation in Mongolia held a Mongolia-Russia business meeting in the Altanbulag free-trade zone (FTZ).

Deputy Chairman on Economy of the Government of Buryatia Igor Zuraev, representatives from Far-East Investment and Export Agency, officials from the Embassy of Russia in Mongolia, and representatives from Russian companies operating in the Altanbulag FTZ participated in the meeting.

The main topics of discussion involved the current status and prospective development of the Altanbulag FTZ and opportunities for investors and businesses. In order to intensify FTZ activities, the Mongolian side proposed establishing a Mongolia-Russia transport and logistics center and increasing the clearance capacity of Kyakhta Port by opening a designated FTZ gateway. The Russian representatives expressed their support for the proposal.
