Heads of the Citizen's Representative Council held a meeting on August 23 and discussed the reform of the public transport.
By a majority vote, a draft resolution to receive a loan of MNT 21 billion from the Development Bank of Mongolia with the purpose of public transport reform was supported and approved.
In particular, the public transport will be upgraded with 10 double-decker and 36 single electric buses. J.Batbayasgalan, the acting governor of the capital city, said “The government has given the capital city the authority to spend MNT 21 billion to upgrade the public transport. According to this, the capital city is renovating its public transport fleet. As we can see, the repayment of the electric bus loan will be made from fuel savings. Electric buses cost less than diesel fuel and can be repaid within six years”.
