The Golden Ger International Film Festival proudly announces participants of the inaugural Ankhnii Alkham (First Steps) Short Film Script Lab.
Ten up-and-coming Mongolian writers have been chosen for the selective and intensive Lab, which is running for the first time this year, under the aegis of the Golden Ger Short Film Festival, now in its 13th edition.
Supported by the Golomt Foundation, the Lab focuses on preparing Mongolian writers to write a short film script. Led by global lab expert, screenwriter/producer Gabrielle Kelly, the Lab runs over 6 weeks and includes two days of in-person workshop sessions held in Ulaanbaatar during the Golden Ger Festival, followed by 4 weeks of online mentoring.
Mentors include US writer/director Portlynn Tagavi and Mongolian writer/directors Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir, Zoljargal Purevdash, and musician/filmmaker Dulguun Bayasgalan, who will co-mentor the 2-day in-person workshop.
"We are looking to grow the next generation of Mongolian filmmakers," said Golden Ger Festival founder Ikhbayar Urchuud, "and that always starts with the script. We are especially glad to expand the audience for stories from Mongolia with these new writers and proudly welcome the 10 participants:
