At its meeting on Monday, the cabinet told the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and the governors of all provinces to celebrate the Naadam on July 15-25--instead of 11-15.
This decision has been based on the law on the National Great Festival and on a proposal put by the National council for organizing the 11th ASEM Summit.
The 11th ASEM Summit to be held this July 10-16 is expected to bring together some 4,000 delegates, state and governmental leaders of 53 countries, and 800 journalists and correspondents. Since the Summit days are coinciding with the Naadam celebration, the ASEM organizing committee has proposed running the localities' Naadam after the Summit.
Obligations were given to the governors of aimags and soums to limit as much as possible vehicles' flows to the capital city during the Summit and to explain the measures to people.
