As of today at 9 am (23rd Feb), Bayankhoshuu and areas nearby Mongolian National Broadcasting are suffering from hazardous levels of air quality index.
According to the agaar.mn, an air quality monitoring webstie, levels of PM2.5 particulates reaches at the highest levels in following areas;
- 571 micrograms per cubic meter in Bayankhoshuu,
- 420 micrograms per cubic meter in Mongolian National Public Television,
- 227 micrograms per cubic meter in Tolgoit.
Levels of PM2.5 particulates, which are the most hazardous to health, in heavily polluted areas of Ulaanbaatar city exceeds 22 times above the recommended levels, as compared with the World Health Organization safe level of 25.
