Measles cases rise to 18 as 4 new cases confirmed last night

The National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) has provided an update on the current influenza, influenza-like illness, and measles situation.

According to E.Ankhbayar, Director of the NCCD, four new measles cases were confirmed last night, bringing the total number of registered cases to 18.

Samples were collected from 12 children in rural areas, and three of them tested positive for measles. The remaining samples are undergoing re-testing as suspected cases. The outbreak poses a risk of spreading, particularly in Umnugovi province.

Young children, especially those who are unvaccinated or have missed their second dose, are at high risk. Parents are strongly advised to check their children’s vaccination records and ensure they receive a booster dose if needed.
