B.Purevdorj: I think the citizens will understand the zeroing herders’ loans of MNT 1.2 trillion

On April 19, the final discussion of the draft law on mitigating the negative effects of climate change on traditional animal husbandry was made.

During the discussion, B.Purevdorj, the member of Parliament, said:
This year, a terrible dzud happened this year that has not happened in the last 40 years in Mongolia. Currently, young herders are at their breaking point because the government doesn't support us, so they will be leaving livestock and moving to Ulaanbaatar. If herders move to the city, the problems of Ulaanbaatar city, such as air pollution and traffic jams, will become more and more difficult.

We, the Mongolians, help each other in difficult times. The government has given a lot of support to the citizens of Ulaanbaatar. During the Covid period, MNT 2 trillion was used for zeroing for electricity bills. The water bill was also zeroed. Therefore, I think the people of Ulaanbaatar city will understand the problem of zeroing the loan of MNT 1.2 trillion taken by herders.

For instance, Davst Sum of Uvs Province had 90,000 livestock, of which 22,000 died. The government is going to give concessional loans to herders. First, we should discuss the issue of granting loans after zeroing the loan and releasing the collateral.
