The National Center for Cultural Heritage, the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, and the “Mongolian Flutist Association” NGO are implementing the project “Inheriting traditional method to play folk long song by flute” with the support of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Fund in 2019-2021.
The main purpose of the project is to protect and promote “Traditional method to play folk long song by flute” which was registered in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding of UNESCO in 2011.
In the framework of the project, the Government of Mongolia, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the National Center for Cultural Heritage, governmental and non-governmental organizations are working to intensify research, promoting the tradition and inheriting to youngsters.
