The President of Mongolia, U.Khurelsukh, initiated the “One Billion Tree” national movement against land degradation and climate change. In accordance with the Law on Forest, the spring tree planting event is being organized for the 13th year under the motto “Green City-Citizen’s Participation”. In this context, more than 19,000 trees, shrubs and bushes were planted last year. This year, a spring tree planting campaign is being organized in the capital city from May 6 to 20.
On May 14, officials of the capital city's local administrations planted trees in accordance with the approved schedule and location, and maintained and watered previously planted trees. Further maintenance of the planted trees is the main basis for increasing green areas. Therefore, the trees should be cared for and watered according to the care technology.
A total of 288,107 trees, shrubs and bushes are planned to be planted in nine districts of Ulaanbaatar during the Spring Tree Planting Day. Professional advice and counseling on planting trees, shrubs, seedlings and trees that meet the standard requirements will be provided at the Chingeltei district's construction square until May 31.
