U.Khurelsukh, the President of Mongolia, introduced “Billion trees” national movement and appealed citizens and businesses to participate actively.
The Office of the President has selected four locations in Ulaanbaatar city and has introduced "Billion Trees" planting campaign.
One of them is “Bayangol Agropark” which is located in front of “Thermal Power Plant-4” SOSC, 20th khoroo, Bayangol district.

D.Bum-Ochir, the President's Adviser, said "This week, the Ministry of Culture will plant trees by turn. We have chosen to plant deciduous trees, and fruit and ornamental trees. The seedlings were prepared by three organizations, some were free and some were sale."

The Bayangol District Governor's Office, Bayangol Agropark and Bayangol Shine Urguu made preparation for planting trees in the area, and 4,000 holes were dug.
U.Sumiyabaatar, the Governor of Bayangol district, said, "We plan to plant trees in 60 percent of the 50-hectare Agropark. We have prepared to plant 2,500 trees a week related to the “Billion Trees” campaign.
Over 20 employees of Bayangol Agropark will be responsible for the care of the trees planted here. In the future, the staff of the department will increase.
150 thousand trees out of planned 250 thousand trees were planted already, and the park will be a public park soon.
The 3 km long and 500-meter width area where 200 meters away from the Tuul River was planned to be leisure area for the citizens. In 2022, sports field, sidewalks and bicycle paths are planned. The developing work will last for 2-3 years.
In 2012, the land was first owned by the Bayangol district under the name of “Dream Park”. For the past nine years, the area has been fenced off, water and electricity have been pumped in, and trees have been planted in certain areas.
In 2022, open-air stadium with 2500 seats has been planned, but it depends on investment and finance. We made proposal to insert the finance in the State Budget 2022. The response is unclear”.
This week, over 7,000 employees from more than 400 branches of the Ministry of Culture will participate in the planting trees movement. L.Munbat, Head of the Strategic Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of Culture, also said that the private companies in the cultural sector is also participating in tree planting.
The event will last until the 10th of October and activities such as sale of seedlings and fertilizers are operated.
