Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, took part in the military ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, at the invitation of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.
This year’s event featured more than 11,000 Russian servicemen and over 1,500 officers from 13 participating countries, including Mongolia, China, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar.
Representing Mongolia, a military unit of the Mongolian Armed Forces participated in the parade. The Mongolian delegation consisted of 28 officers, 50 sergeants, and two contract servicemen, led by Lieutenant Colonel E.Bilegsaikhan, commander of Unit 032. The unit trained in April at the Zvenigorodsky military sanatorium under Russia’s Ministry of Defense, alongside contingents from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
Mongolia’s presence in the parade highlighted the country’s historic contributions during World War II. Under the slogan "All for the front, all for victory," the Mongolian people supported the Soviet war effort from the outset. This included sending the "Revolutionary Mongolia" tank convoy, the "Mongol Ard" air force squadron, 500,000 horses, and 740 wagons of aid filled with warm clothing, food, and essential supplies, delivered six times throughout the war.
