Member of the State Duma N.R Buduyev visits Mongolia

On March 9, G.Munkhtsetseg, the Member of the Parliament and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science and Sports, held a meeting with N.R Buduyev, the member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, who is on a official visit to Mongolia. 

Nikolay Robertovich Buduyev, the Member of the State Duma and head of the Baikal Lake Protection Sub-Committee, said that he pays more attention to the protection of Baikal Lake, which contains 20 percent of the world's fresh water, from pollution. He also stated that Russia spends USD 10-20 billion per annum to protect Lake Baikal, and approved laws to ban the use of plastic bottles and single-use bags and containers around the shores of the lake.

G.Munkhtsetseg, the Member of the Parliament, noted that the Parliament of Mongolia approved a law on limiting the usage of plastic in 2019, and expressed her interest in cooperating on water issues and combating desertification.
