On December 29th, 1911 Mongolian Nation declared its independence and this year the country commemorates the 103th anniversary of this historic event.
Also this year commemorates the 100th anniversary of first ever official visit to abroad by the first Prime Minister T.Namnansuren to Russian Empire. The Mongolian National Museum is opening its doors to the public to dislplay the photographs and other items related to this first historical visit.
Namnansuren Tugs-Ochir was one of the deeply respected Government Officials and was famous for his nick name "Pink Lord". His officials visits during 1913-1914 have become the milestone in Mongolian diplomatic relations history.
At the opening ceremony speech 28th Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbilen emphasized the importance of displaying historical events for public as it adds learning experience for youth. Further he marked the importance of this particular visit to Russian Empire, as Prime Minister T.Namnansuren proceeded with this important meeting no matter the hardships he encoutered, but succeeded in presenting Mongolian State to then powerhouses such as France, USA, japan and Germany. Besides meeting the ministers and officials, he met with Nicolas II, Emperor of Russia twice and succeeded in securing economic, trade and militaryssupport .
Many historians emphasize T.Namnansuren's patience and tenure during those hard negotiations, although he was only 35 at that time.
The exhibition features rare photos, videos, items that were in archives of Russian Historical Archive, Irkustsk Archive and Saint Petersburgh photography archives.
