Decision to expand Gorkhi-Terelj tourist zone by 54 thousand hectares made

B.Bat-Erdene, the Minister of Environment and Tourism, reported a decision to expand the Tourism Zone (Protection Zone) of Gorkhi-Terelj National Park by 54,899 hectares and 54,899 hectares of land are excluded from the restriction zone.

According to the law on Specially Protected Area, no construction work is allowed by expanding the tourist zone or the protection zone.

According to the ordinance of the Parliament and the Government of Mongolia, the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park Protection Administration was established in 1993 and beautiful nature of Terelj became a special protected area of the State to preserve the beautiful nature in its original form, develop tourism in an organized manner, and properly use and protect natural resources.
