13 new cases of COVID-19 registered in Mongolia

Today, General Director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases D.Nyamkhuu reported “1 patient who resulted positive to COVID-19 recovered and discharged from hospital yesterday. In total, 5 people recovered and discharged from hospital. 502 citizens were tested at 2 laboratories of NCCD yesterday and 13 of them resulted positive to COVID-19. One of them was in Darkhan-Uul province and brought to NCCD this morning. Other 12 citizens are under isolation in Ulaanbaatar. Re-testing continues and total 25 people who are positive to COVID-19 are under treatment”. 

A.Ambaselmaa, Head of Surveillance Department of NCCD, reported “Yesterday, 20 citizens arrived from Russia have been isolated in NCCD. Direct contacts of 31 people are revealed. 282 citizens who arrived through Altanbulag border, by Moscow-Ulan Ude flight and Irkutsk-Ulan Ude bus, and were isolated. Direct contacts of 30 people to 1 citizen who arrived from Russia and resulted positive to COVID-19 were tested and 12 of them resulted positive. They are students of ages 19-23. One citizen in Darkhan-Uul province went to same school with those 12 students”.

Infected citizens are feeling normal. NCCD has a capacity to make treatment to these citizens. Mongolia is in situation of high risk.
