Judo Asian Championship 2016 was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Out of 13 male teams, Mongolian judokas team competed in "B" zones and defeated Iranian team with 3-2 score in the first round and 4-1 victory over Kyrgyzstanian team which qualified them into semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, Mongolian team faced one of the top opponents in Asian Championship. Mongolian judokas D.Tumurkhuleg in 66kg, O.Uuganbaatar in 81kg, L.Otgonbaatar -90kg, N.Tuvshinbayar in +91kg wrestled with Japanese and came out victorious with 4-1 score, thus advancing into the finals.
In the finals, Mongolian team lost to host country's team, Uzbekistan, with score with 4-1 and came to second place, wining silver medals.
