President Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia Gerhard Thiedemann, in connection with the latter’s returning home after completion of his diplomatic mission here.
The President emphasized Germany is a close partner and friend of Mongolia in Europe, and expressed a satisfaction with an intensive development of the bilateral relations. Highlighting significant contributions of Thiedmann to fostering the ties, he thanked the Ambassador for making great efforts to make a joint archeological research in Kharkhorin happen under his auspices.
“Germany is one of the countries having supported Mongolia in stepping onto democratic path. There are many Mongolians educated in Germany, who serve as a bridge for our bonds, so it is important to exchange students and to augment governmental scholarships for Mongolian students,” the President said.
Gerhard Thiedmann said he did all his best to forward the friendly relations during his mission in Mongolia, and he is leaving with a good impression about Mongolia.
