Mongolia announced to host the 11th ASEM Summit of Heads of State and Government in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar at the 10th ASEM Summit held on 16-17 October 2014 in Milan, Italy.
In order to successfully host the upcoming international event, the National Council, headed by the Prime Minister, has been established to steer preparations for the 11th ASEM Summit. As part of the preparations, ASEM-11 logo contest was announced nation-wide between March 3 and 31 to receive 35 entries. Top three entries approved by the National Council were awarded at the inauguration ceremony.
The ASEM-11 final logo will be used not only at the Ulaanbaatar Summit but also at other side events in the manner as to display in a conference hall. It will also be used in promoting ASEM activities and preparation efforts locally in Mongolia.
ASEM-11 Summit website www.asem11.mn was also declared launched during the inauguration ceremony.
Asia-Europe Meeting is a major international political, socio-economic integration dialogue bringing together 51 countries and two international organizations in Asia and Europe, in a spirit of mutual respect and equal partnership. An ASEM Summit is a biennial meeting to oversee ASEM activities with Mongolia taking an active participation in the process since 2008.
