Winter Festival, a two-day event was held in Ulaanbaatar last weekend. The annual event was organized by Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department at the National Park. The event held several competitions, including ice knucklebone shooting, winter rugby (touch rugby), dog sledding, ice skating, snowboarding, ice climbing and other family competitions, for the entertainment of the festival-goers.
Batsukh Dagwajamts, Head of Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department, noted that the event broadened its scope and invited athletes from Russia and China, delegates of foreign embassies including India, Czech Republic, Japan, professors and scholars of local universities this year. They festival-goers enjoyed the day participating in ice archery, ice knucklebone shooting, dog sledding and having their photos taken with exotic animals, such as horses, camels, reindeers and sled dogs.
Also, one of the most thrilling event was the archery competition between Inner Mongolia, Buryatia and Mongolian archers. Furthermore, a fashion event of traditional clothing, national folk song and dance performance, as well as a food festival were held during the event.
