“Winter Sport Palace” project was initiated by Tsagaan Puntsag, Chairman of the Board of Steppe Arena LLC. The foundation stone of the Winter Palace, located to the east of Buyant-Ukhaa 2, south of the New Yarmag district, was laid on April 14, 2019.
Anagram LLC of Mongolia performed the design of the Palace after consulting with professional sports design organizations and architects such as Canada's HDRJCEI and VDA. Most of the financing for the Winter Sport Palace was provided by Achit Ikht LLC as part of its social responsibility.
95 Mongolian and 6 foreign companies, a total of 1,600 constructors and engineers participated in the construction of the Palace. The Winter Sport Palace is the first in Mongolia to introduce new technologies such as a space farm, a ZIP roof system, folding floors, refrigerators, consoles, and aerial engineering. The Palace has 2500-2600 seats and can host winter sports such as hockey, figure skating and short track, but also indoor sports competitions and art performance.
U.Khurelsukh, the President of Mongolia, and P.Tsagaan, the initiator of the project, participated in the opening ceremony and made speech. The Winter Sport Palace has a 70 meters long and column-free roof, which introduces international experience.
