For the first time, Mongolian engineers built and designed the reinforced concrete and reinforced bridges for the railway, and the construction work was completed by national companies.

In particular, 27 bridges with a total length of 2,427 meters were built and put into operation on the 414.6 km railway from Tavan Tolgoi to Zuunbayan. The longest bridge is 226.1 meters, and the shortest is 37 meters.

N.Udaanjargal, CEO of Tavan Tolgoi Railway LLC, said, “A train with a capacity of 10,000 tons is able to run over the bridge. We built this bridge. Three years ago, we thought that only the Chinese build bridges. And only Mongolian companies used to work as subcontractors. We built the railway bridge for the first time by the decision of the National Security Council due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.

A total of 16 bridges have been built on the 240-kilometer Tavan Tolgoi-Gashuun Sukhait railway route. Eight of them are beams and the remaining eight are frame bridges.

S.Munkhtamga, a 24-year-old specialist and chief engineer of Ukhaalag Zam Consulting LLC, led the construction work of casting of the railway's ID105 or 450-meter-long bridge girder. He gained 6 month experience working on the glass bridge construction in Zhengzhou, China.
