“EBRD’s support on 14 mega development projects is important”

L.Oyun-Erdene, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, held discussions with Odile Renault-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), focusing on ongoing cooperation.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the EBRD for its significant role in fostering Mongolia’s private sector, which has been a crucial driver of the country's economy during the 18 years of EBRD operations in Mongolia.

He also highlighted that the EBRD's total loan and investment contributions of $2.3 billion across 140 projects have had a substantial impact on private sector diversification.

As Mongolia's joint government works to implement 14 mega development projects, many of which focus on mining, energy, and infrastructure, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of EBRD’s expertise and support in energy reform, renewable energy, green transitions, and satellite city development.

EBRD President Odile Renault-Basso, in turn, thanked L.Oyun-Erdene, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, for the warm welcome and praised Mongolia's rapid economic growth in recent years, expressing continued commitment to cooperation.
